About Kristi Pond, The Face Behind Mobile Notary Services, LLC
A Journey Through Real Estate and Finance
I am Kristi Pond, the founder and driving force behind Mobile Notary Services, LLC. Born and raised in Washington State, my journey in the real estate industry began in 1997, just a year after graduating high school. Starting as a temp worker at Eagle Home Mortgage Wholesale Lending Dept. in Bellevue, I was quickly offered a full-time position. For five years, I served as a Wholesale Coordinator, becoming the point of contact between small mortgage brokers and Eagle Mortgage’s Underwriting and Funding Team.
I then progressed to roles such as Senior Loan Processor and Loan Originator, gaining invaluable experience and insights along the way. This chapter of my career culminated in running a local branch for NorthStar Bank, a testament to my skills and dedication.
Embracing Change, Overcoming Challenges
In 2008, the economic downturn had a significant impact on the mortgage industry. This challenge led me to explore opportunities in notary services. It was also during this period that I became a full-time mother to my beautiful daughter, Dajia. Balancing motherhood and career, I found my niche in notary signings, which offered the flexibility I needed.
The onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 compelled me to adapt once more. Washington State’s approval of Remote Online Notarization (RON) presented a new avenue. Fully immersing myself in the RON process, I conducted my first remote signing just days after it became legally permissible. This shift not only kept my business afloat but also allowed me to work from the safety of my home during a global crisis.
Personal Life and Interests
Outside of my professional sphere, I have a rich and fulfilling personal life. I am a food enthusiast who loves cooking and sampling great food. I also enjoy shopping, people-watching, and frequenting outdoor markets and festivals with my daughter during the summer. My love for animals is evident in my small zoo at home, which includes two Bengal cats (Oliver and Pepper), a poodle/schnauzer mix named Sammy, and a rabbit called Myah.
